The Issues
Stem Cell Research
Steven believes that stem cell reseach can be a great tool, only it is inaccessible due to outdated morals. Stem Cells can be gotten from an umbillical cord so there is no harm to the fetus.
Mininum Wage
The economic gap in our society is pushing our nation towards a fecession where the rich are getting richer while the poor no longer have money to spend. We must solve this problem. One step Steve plans to take is to raise the minimum wage, closing the economic gap.
The Deficit
We must find a way to stop spending so much money without ending government programs. If elected Steve will decrease the deficit and work towards a balance buget every year he is in office.
The War
There is now way we can jus tpull out of the war becuase we have been in Iraq for 5 years. I realize many countires have been fighting for much longer to solve government problems but this is not our country. We need to think of Americans first. That is why, if Steven is elected president he will have troops out of Iraq within six months.
Foreign Policy
The Aid to foreign contries must decrease untill we can cloth and feed American citizens.
Scocial Security
Steven opposes the creation of voluntary personal accounts. He supports raising the cap on income taz in order to allow the rich to pay for more of the social security benefits.
Medicare/Medicaid
Health care is a right not a privilege. Steven will give taz cuts to business owners if tehy provide some medical benefits to workers.
Abortion
Steven stands by the Supreme Court's decision in Roe V. Wade. It is a woman's choice to keep her child or not. Steven also stands by successive restricions, such as parcial birth abortion. A person should be able to decide to keep their baby or not before it is halfway out of their body.
Gun Control
Firearms should be allowed for personal protection and recreation (e.g. hunting). Automatic weaponry has no place in either of those categories but automatic weaponry will be allowed to cun collectors who register the firearms and maintain a current licence.
Taxes
We must tax the rich more rather than allowing the rich to horde more and more money, while the poor are pushed further and further into poverty. ONce we have lowered the deficit we can begin lowering taxes on the middle class, than gradually lowering taxes on the rich.
Education
Steven will work towards smaller class sizes, more activities, and individualized attention for our students. If our country continues growing we must meet our commitments to elementary and secondary education.
Gay Marriage
Steven is for the rights of homosexual Americans. He believes that allowing homosexuals to be married is the correct answer, but the decision is to be made at the state level.
